2025 has been a really special year for me.
This October, I made it to the top of Island Peak and Mera Peak.

Standing on the summits and looking at those endless snow-covered mountains, I really felt how powerful nature is and how small we are. At the same time, I could feel my love for adventure bubbling in my veins. I’m just really grateful — grateful for everything I have.

Mera Peak is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks, standing tall in the remote Hinku Valley of the Everest region. It offers an ideal challenge for climbers aiming to experience high-altitude adventure without the extreme technical difficulty of major expeditions. The journey to its 6,476-meter summit passes through rhododendron forests, traditional Sherpa villages, and glacial valleys before reaching the high alpine world of ice and snow. From the summit of Mera Peak, you are surrounded by a stunning panorama of the highest mountains on Earth. One-Day Hike from Pokhara to Australian Camp, Dhampus, and Phedi
🌿 Organized by Big Sky Treks Nepal

Looking for a peaceful day hike from Pokhara that offers nature, culture, and relaxation without the crowds? Our recent hike to Australian Camp, Dhampus, and Phedi delivered just that — even on a cloudy day.

We began with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kande (1,770m), the trailhead. From there, we gently ascended through lush forest to Australian Camp (2,050m), a serene viewpoint often known for its panoramic Himalayan views. Though the peaks stayed hidden behind clouds, the trail was vibrant — full of greenery, misty forest, and birdsong. There were very few people, giving us a quiet, undisturbed connection with nature.

After a relaxing tea break at the top, we continued downhill through a rhododendron-lined path to the beautiful Gurung village of Dhampus (1,650m). Here, we enjoyed a fresh Nepali lunch overlooking rice terraces and deep valleys blanketed in cloud — peaceful and soul-soothing.

Our final leg descended to Phedi (1,130m), where we rested and played by the river before returning to Pokhara by jeep. The air was fresh, the trails soft underfoot, and the experience... unforgettable.

This day hike is perfect for travelers looking to enjoy green hills, local villages, and forest trails without the need for high altitude or long travel. Even without mountain views, this trek reminded us that every step in nature is a blessing.
