What a way to start the day! Our team were very excited when they realised there was a pod of Bottlenose dolphins heading straight towards them as they were bringing the boat in from the mooring!

Whenever interacting with the amazing marine life that we encounter around the Banks Peninsula we always ensure that we follow the Marine Mammal Protection Act 1978. Remember to always let dolphins continue on their course and to give them the space to do their dolphin things! If they choose to come and interact slow down to a no wake speed!

It’s always exciting to see Hector’s dolphins showing off a playful side—they’re usually not the most acrobatic of dolphins! Moments like these are extra special because their lively bursts of energy aren’t something you see every day. Watching them dart, splash, and interact reminds us just how full of personality these little coastal dolphins can be. 🐬✨
