Another ‘winter’ task; moving the bench seats on the property to spots we we like to sit. This is my favourite place to watch the sun disappear over the hills as we mark the end of the day.
In the warmer months we relax with a dip, in the cooler months we clutch a hot mug of tea.

One of the hardest things I’ve had to learn here is that sometimes healthy trees have to be felled or severely pruned.
I love trees and want them all to flourish but the property is so heavily planted with trees, many are now of a size where some selective care and thinning is required.

This weekend we worked to open up space around a stunning copper beech that was being strangled by its faster growing neighbours. Plus there were some large not so healthy limbs overhanging the cottage roof, causing anxiety every time a strong northerly blew.
