Tinirau was a great chief, famous throughout the land for his school of whales.
When he called them, they would come and play off shore, cruising round in circles and blowing spray through their vent holes. His favourite was Tutunui, the largest of his whales. Tinirau liked nothing better than to climb upon his back and ride him through the breakers, and out into the stormy sea.

For more than 20 years, the Kruse GPS Travel Guide has brought the stories of Aotearoa New Zealand to life through immersive narration, music, characters and sound effects.

Over the years, many people who used the original Kruse GPS Travel Guide—and more recently the new Kruse app—have asked whether they could obtain copies of the Māori legends they enjoyed during their travels to share with family, children, grandchildren and friends.

We listened, and that is why we have now launched the Kruse GPS Travel Guide Patreon page.

These are not simply recorded stories. Each legend has been professionally curated, narrated and produced as an immersive experience, using music, sound effects and memorable characters to bring the story vividly to life.
