We have had some wonderful guests over the last few months we still have a few to come before the winter really hits so we are looking forward to meeting them. In June we have some keen skiers arriving for several weeks so fingers crossed we get a good dump of snow on Mt hutt, its looking pretty good at the moment but with the warm weather predicted for this weekend much of that will disappear.

I have been having fun outside the cottage gate taking the aurora photos. The last few nights have been so clear and last night we could see the pink in the last 3 photos with the naked eye, thank heavens we dont have street lights or we wouldn't see it. It is amazing what other colours the camera picks up that the eye did not.

Hi all it has been a wee while since I posted sorry about that we have been away in our camper enjoying this wonderful country of ours. We found summer so stayed a bit longer than we intended.

We have had some absolutely lovely interesting guests stay in our cottage of the past few months. A couple from England who found us about 4 years ago and have been returning each year to stay such a wonderful friendly couple. Funnily enough we bumped into them while we were away on our holiday the chances of being in the same place at the exact same time what are the chances?

The last week has seen us with wonderful weather high temperatures and our garden is full of colour with the Gladoli and dahlias in full bloom looks great and we have had so many wonderful comments from our guests.

Hopefully we get a good winter with snow on Hutt so we can hopefully get some skiers wanting to stay with us only time will tell.

Well I have been a bit slack at posting so sorry about that. We have had some wonderful guests staying in our wee cottage from all around the world and from New Zealand. Sadly the weather hasn't been as good as we would like for our guests but all seem to have enjoyed themselves despite the weather.

Another stunning day here in Mt Somers we are currently hosting some lovely guests who have just come for a relaxing few days away they have had every season since they arrived including snow on the ground. However they tell us they are really enjoying their stay which is great to hear.

A stunning day here in Mt Somers the mountains are looking beautiful with the snow. Mt Hutt is showing some nice snow so Im sure there are plenty up there enjoying the day and the views from the Mountain. We have just had a lovely couple staying for a few days and they enjoyed what the area has on offer. We have a few gaps left for the rest of this month so if you are interested in a wee bit of a relaxing holiday get in touch.

It has been a while since I posted last. We have had some wonderful guests staying in our wee cottage. At the moment we have a lovely young couple who have come to try out our beautiful Mt Hutt Ski field for the first time after talking to them yesterday I have to say they were impressed with the ski field and the beautiful views from up there on what was a fantastic sunny clear blue sky day. We have been quite busy with our guests coming to sample what is on offer in the area, some for skiing others for tramping and some for just a relaxing time away in the fresh country air.

Wow we have been so busy over the last few months with some absolutely fabulous guests staying at Somers Holiday Cottage. We have a few return guests so we must be doing something right. We have the rest of February fully booked pretty much. The start of March and a good bit of April so we are looking forward to meeting all our new guests. Well the ski season is nearly over we have had a few keen skiers come and stay. Looks a beautiful day up on Hutt today but I guess the strong winds earlier may have caused some issues. Spring is definately on its way and the daffodils are looking great as is the blossom on the fruit trees. I love this time of year as the garden springs into life.

Well we have had some spectacular hot days of late, with all the rain the gardens are looking wonderful. Our guests have enjoyed wandering and sitting in the garden with the scent of Lillies in the air. This morning we were surprised to find Winter had returned on Mt Somers with a nice dusting of snow so pretty with the sun on it.
We have a few days vacant in February so if you feel like a wee break in peaceful Mt Somers please get in touch, we live sharing our piece of paradise with others.
