If you don’t want to wish away the colder days this winter, a weekend in Mid Canterbury is for you.

Just an hour from Christchurch, take the Inland Scenic Route and start in Methven Township.

Here you’ll find boutique shops to wander through, great spots to eat and drink, and Mt Hutt right on your doorstep.

Stay simple or treat yourself. There are plenty of accommodation options around Methven or go all out with a stay somewhere like Above and Beyond or Lake Heron Station.

Think wide open spaces, quiet nights, and more stars than you can imagine.

If you’re keen to get out and explore, head to Staveley for a relaxed brunch followed by a skate on the outdoor ice rink.

The cooler weather doesn’t get us down in Mid Canterbury ❄️
