Aussie rock legends, THE SUPERJESUS are returning to NZ for the first time in over 20 years. Their new, self-titled album is a beautiful crafted record that is having a big impact on the charts and airwaves across Australia, solidifying their place as one of Australia's finest rock acts. Supporting TSJ on the Aotearoa tour are NZ's own, THE AFTER, prior to their next tour of Asia later this year.

A long career in the music industry is much of a rarity these days but Adelaide rockers The Superjesus have managed to hold their place as one of Australia’s most respected live bands for almost 30 years.
Emerging in the late 90’s and signing to Warners worldwide they released 3 classic albums, Sumo, Jet Age and Rock Music, two of which went platinum. The 3 x Aria award winners took a hiatus in the mid 2000’s to work on solo projects and re-emerged in 2013 to test the waters. Pleased to have found themselves well received by the public they headed back into the studio for 2016’s EP Love And Violence followed by a double live album.
The South Australian Music Hall Of Fame inductees have a strong work ethic and an ear for a good hook. With hits such as ‘Gravity’ , ‘Secret Agent Man’, ‘Down Again’ and ‘Now And Then’ under their belt their songwriting has always remained their strong point.
It has been 20 years since The Superjesus have released a full-length album of new music.
In 2025 the band released their first self-titled album ‘The Superjesus’. After 30 years of crafting their sound, the songwriting partnership of Sarah McLeod and Stuart Rudd has truly found its sweet spot.
Rudd say’s “our writing partnership together has blossomed into a fantastic place to be creative. McLeod backed this up with “When you find a great creative writing partner, stick with it”
From the opening bars of ‘Starlight’ we hear classic TSJ, tipping the hat to the 90’s sound they are known for while surging forward lyrically and melodically to create something really special.
This is the new Superjesus, a more soulful engaging version of the band we know and love where song writing is king.
To date 5 singles have been released from the forthcoming self-titled album “Money (We’re Only In It For Love), ‘Lights Out’, ‘We Won’t Let Go Until It’s Over’, ‘Something Good’ and a cover of Generation X’s ‘Dancing With Myself’. All 5 singles have gained national airplay, setting the mood for this highly anticipated release.
They have kept the beautiful ballad ‘Diamonds’ to accompany the release. Here we see The Superjesus like never before, a beautiful emotive stirrer written on the piano showcasing how far the band has come musically, coupled with Sarah McLeod's classic rich vocals.
The Superjesus are back stronger than ever and according to Rudd “not going anywhere anytime soon” . McLeod said “For us the magic is in the creation of the music and as a band we have found this process very soul enriching, I truly feel it’s our best work yet, I love every song on this record ”.
Supporting The Superjesus on all four Aotearoa shows this July is NZ’s own THE AFTER.
The After are a New Zealand pop/rock band blending moody grooves, gritty guitars, and soaring melodies into emotionally charged soundscapes. With soulful Hammond textures and a cinematic edge, they deliver songs that linger long after the final note. Blending pop hooks, raw emotion, and soul-drenched textures.
Already two massive Asia Pacific Tours under their belt and a string of NZ tours, significant airplay and video successes, The After are a well-oiled live act with a fast-growing international reputation.
At the helm is the magnetic Ruby Fraser, whose powerhouse vocals and searing guitar work channel raw emotion and rebellious spirit. Founding member Andrew Featherstone lays the groundwork on bass with tight, tasteful songwriting. Behind the kit, Gareth Scott delivers versatile, thunderous rhythms, while Bruce Madden—a true Hammond organ virtuoso—elevates the band’s sound with lush swells and soul-soaked textures rarely heard in modern pop/rock.
All The After’s singles have been co-produced and mixed by Steve James (Screaming Jets, S*x Pistols. Monty Python), with latest track “Mesmerised” mastered by Leon Zervos (INXS, Midnight Oil, Muse, AC/DC, Pink).
• “Mesmerised,” is gaining airplay on radio & TV in both NZ and the Philippines and soon to be echoing in Australia’s ears.
• “Clear to Me” (feat. Split Enz legend Eddie Rayner) was the most-played rock track on NZ’s Juice TV in 2021, airing on over 500 stations worldwide.
• “Doesn’t Matter” cracked the Radioscope Rock Radio Top 40 and became a JUICE TV rotation staple.
• “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way” clocked nearly 600,000 views, featuring a globe-trotting video shot in Tokyo, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Auckland.
• Their emotive cover of Filipino band Dilaw’s hit “Uhaw” added another 500,000 views to their fast-growing fanbase.
