Hi there.

A tip from myself a New Zealand local from Auckland...some of the best experiences can be free, particularly in summer.

It's a long weekend in Auckland and Friday night went to a free outdoor New Zealand movie at Silo Park, Friday night yesterday I went to a North Shore, beachside suburb Takapuna which hosted a free outside gig with different performers, today I went to an inner suburb's Robbie Burns Scottish sessions and haggis supper event and tomorrow going to the Auckland botanical gardens which currently has some outdoor sculptures plus a great cafe.

Most of these free outdoor events have pop up catering trucks so you're supporting local plus you get an opportunity to interact/see locals in a relaxed environment There's alot of free gigs/outdoor movies on facebook events
