Few names carry more mana in the black jersey than Sir Wayne ‘Buck’ Shelford.

All Black #860, a 1987 Rugby World Cup winner, an unbeaten All Blacks captain through 1988 and 1989, and a leader whose influence helped transform the haka within the team, Buck’s legacy goes far beyond results. He helped shape the pride, standards and identity carried by generations who followed.

Having Sir Buck place the All Blacks winning sprig into our Legacy Wall was a special moment a piece of All Blacks history being added by someone who helped define it.

Legacy recognised. History carried forward.
