Some road trip stops are for doing more. This one’s for doing as much, or as little, as you feel like.

Sitting at the base of Mount John, has hot pools overlooking Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains, making it a pretty good place to reset after a few big days on the road.

Still got some energy? Hit the snow tubes or see how long you can stay upright on the ice-skating rink. Then swap the cold for the hot pools, steam rooms or sauna.

And when the sun goes down, Tekapo Star Gazing pairs a guided stargazing experience in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve with a soak under the night sky. ✨

We are aware of reports concerning a so-called “travel bug” affecting Kiwi Experience passengers.

Following an extensive investigation, we can confirm the symptoms are real and also include: extended trips, new group chats, excessive mountain photos and a concerning reluctance to go home.

At this time, we ask the public to remain calm... and vote.

Leaving Franz Josef behind and making her way towards Wānaka, there was no shortage of reasons to keep the camera out every time the bus stopped.

This is the beauty of travelling New Zealand by road; the places you didn’t expect to be highlights somehow end up becoming them.

Next stop: Wānaka. 🚌

You’ll be outgoing, organised, a confident communicator and hold, or be eligible for, a Class 2 and/or 4 licence with a P endorsement. Tourism or driving experience is a bonus, but the right attitude matters most.
