Dear members,

Due to the COVID-19 Corona-virus pandemic, our office is closed from today until further notice. However, you can still reach us under [email protected] and our emergency phone line: 021 748484

We will still be here to answer all your questions and help you out as much as we can in the current situation.

Life in New Zealand has been changing rapidly in the last week. New Zealand is currently at alert Level 3, but will move to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 at 11.59 pm on Wednesday 25 March. For detailed information about the situation, please have a look at the government website: https://covid19.govt.nz/

Once we have reached level 4, you must stay at home and stop all interactions with others outside of your household – unless you are working in the essential services. You may go for a walk or exercise and enjoy nature, but keep a 2 metre distance from people at all times. Food will always be available and supermarkets remain open. Remember, you are asked that you only spend time with those who you are in self-isolation with, and keep your distance from all others at all times. https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/covid-19-alert-level/

Please note that there will be restrictions travelling through New Zealand:
https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/travel-restrictions/
Right now, public transport and domestic air travel is restricted only for medical reasons, to get to the supermarket, to those involved in essential services and freight. Air travel is permitted for travellers to leave the country. Ferry services, road and rail will still be available for the transport of essential goods.
Driving in private vehicles is allowed, but everyone is asked to limit their movement around the country. We want to emphasize that finding safe accommodation should be your priority. At this stage, jobs will be very limited in New Zealand and industries are unsure if they belong to the essential service.

We recommend to our members to return back to their home country, as this has been a recommendation from governments and ministries of foreign affairs all over the world. As airports have been affected as well and closures have been happening, we ask our members to get in contact with their embassies.

Our German members have been advised to register for a flight back home under:
www.rueckholprogramm.de
Moreover, German members should also register under:
https://elefand.diplo.de/

We advise our members from other countries to get in touch with their embassies – a small selection of their phone numbers below:
British Embassy: (0) 4 924 2888.
French Embassy: (04) 384 2555
Belgium Embassy: (04) 974 9080 or Mobile: 027 279 9363
Austrian Consulate: (09) 476 0994 or Mobile: 021 858 818

Please stay safe and healthy!

Hi lovely members😃,

Next week will be Antoine’s last week in New Zealand! He will be going back to France.

During his time here, the best thing he did was snorkeling. Encountering New Zealand’s marine life was surely something to remember. He even encountered fish that were half his size!

We will surely miss him in the office!!!

Enjoy your weekend,🤩

Hi dear members,

Currently, we have some strict border measurements in place here in New Zealand.

Foreign travellers who have been present in, or transited through, Iran or mainland China in the previous 14 days cannot enter New Zealand. Travellers to New Zealand from the rest of the world, except most Pacific Islands, must isolate themselves upon arrival.

Please self-isolate yourself for the requested time.

Staying home is a precautionary measure to protect those around you – your family, friends and our elderly - from possibly contracting COVID-19.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are cough, fever, and shortness of breath.

Contact Healthline for free on 0800 358 5453 if you begin to feel unwell.

Stay safe,

Your Work N Holiday Team

Hi beautiful members😄,

Our member Antonia is enjoying this!

Look at this stunning view of Antonia’s favorite lake!

In New Zealand, you can find a lot of the most special coloured lakes! The reason for the colours can be quite strange, because of various reasons.

The most common reason is the concentrated amount of minerals in the water. This makes the lake turn into all colours of the rainbow. The other one is, because of glacial water. This makes the lakes turn into a beautiful baby blue colour.

Make sure to see one before you leave New Zealand!👀

Hi hard workers,

Look at this stunning view from one of our employer’s orchards!🤩

It was taken in the Bay of Plenty. The Bay of Plenty is known for the beautiful lush and green environment.

It is a great place to experience the true Kiwi culture, because a lot of Kiwis live in here. Get a real taste of farm life in New Zealand.

The bay of plenty has a lot of work offers at this very moment! Swing by the office for our best job offers, or send us a quick email on [email protected]

Hi lovely members😃,

Look at our member Yasmina! She is completely in her adventurous element while walking across the bridge in Mt Cook.

Most people know Mt Cook for being the highest mountain in New Zealand, but did you know that it’s also a National Park?

Yasmina hiked down the Ho**er Valley track! It is one of the most popular tracks in the Mount Cook National Park.

It is suitable for all levels! The track is 10km and it is mainly flat. One of the best short walks you can find in this National Park! It is just absolutely stunning!

Happy exploring,

Look at this picture of the pancake rocks!

You can find the pancake rocks in Punakaiki, on the West Coast in the South Island.

Do you want to travel to the South Island? Start your journey in our office! We can help plan your itinerary throughout whole New Zealand. No hustle for you on the way, so you can fully enjoy the country’s beauty.

We also have some good discounts for our members 😉

Hi explorers,

Look at this picture that our member Morgane send us!

She took it on one of our Whale & Dolphin Safari Eco-tours in Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.

On this tour, you get to enjoy Auckland’s marine life for 4 hours alongside conservation-based activities in the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine.

The tour guarantees you dolphin or whale sightings. If you don’t see any, you will get to take the tour again! How good is that? 😀

It can be anything, from a kitchenhand to waiter/waitress to chef/cook. Some jobs require you to have some experience, but we also have ones where experience is not a requirement.

Hospitality jobs are also great for your English language skills. You will talk to customers and communicate with the other staff members constantly. An amazing opportunity.
