Queenstown might be famously known for its adrenaline-fueled activities, but it also has access to some incredible alpine trails 🏔️

When we stop here on tour, you’ll have time to explore this gem your way! Here are some of our favourite tracks to get you inspired:

🥾 Bob's Cove (3km, 40min return) - A peaceful beech forest stroll to a secluded Lake Whakatipu cove, perfectly paired with birdsong.

🥾 Tobins Track (2km, 1hr) - Short but steep with spectacular views over charming Arrowtown and the Wakatipu basin.

🥾 Queenstown Hill (1.5km, 2-3hrs) - An iconic and rewarding hike to the famous 'Basket of Dreams' sculpture, overlooking town and the alps.

🥾 Ben Lomond (11km, 3-4hrs) - The ultimate challenge with 360° views over Queenstown from the summit.

At Flying Kiwi, we’re lucky to share our beautiful corner of the world with travellers from all over the globe, and to introduce them to some truly unforgettable places along the way.

One of our favourites? Te Puia in Rotorua ❤️

An optional activity on our North Island tours, this geothermal wonderland is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest natural geyser, bubbling mud pools, and powerful Māori cultural experiences, including the haka and poi performances.

Tuesday Tour Tip: Layers, layers, layers! 👕

The weather here changes faster than you can finish your morning coffee, so we suggest always being prepared with a rain jacket and some light layers. That way you can add or remove them as needed 👌

We've seen our fair share of "need-a-beanie" mornings turn into shorts-and-t-shirt afternoons 🤔

Founded in 1988 Flying Kiwi adventure tours have been creating once in a lifetime experiences ever since. In 2001 Dennis and Vonnie Christian took over the family business taking it on an award winning journey to today. The style of travel remains totally unique and the product goes from strength to strength with recognition amongst the Worlds leading industry bodies including National Geographic.
