A stretch of the Greater Kruger that was once a hunting reserve reopens on 1 August as Sandringham Private Game Reserve, after a five-year restoration that rehabilitated wildlife, revived eight drainage lines, and is training young people from nearby communities as trackers. Seventy years ago, the jaguar disappeared from Argentina's Iberá wetlands. This month, a wild-born cub marked the biggest milestone yet for the project to bring it back. Around twenty jaguars now roam free.
