A stretch of the Greater Kruger that was once a hunting reserve reopens on 1 August as Sandringham Private Game Reserve, after a five-year restoration that rehabilitated wildlife, revived eight drainage lines, and is training young people from nearby communities as trackers. Its managing director calls it "probably the last piece of great African bushveld."
