Our 7 day Early Explorers: Queen Charlotte Sound to Akaroa tour departs in December, travelling at a leisurely pace through Marlborough, Kaikoura and Banks Peninsula.

This fascinating journey brings some of New Zealand’s earliest stories to life, from Māori settlement and Polynesian navigation to Captain Cook, whaling, historic ships and the French and British settlers of Banks Peninsula.

- Cruise Queen Charlotte Sound to historic Meretoto/Ship Cove and discover its fascinating connection to Captain Cook.

- Explore the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre and visit the historic Edwin Fox in Picton.

We're delighted to share some wonderful news with you.

MoaTrek New Zealand, home of MoaTours and MoaTrek, has been named a finalist in two categories at the 2026 2degrees Auckland Business Awards: Excellence in Customer Experience and People’s Choice.

This feels especially meaningful because both categories reflect the heart of what we do.

At MoaTours, looking after our travellers has always been about much more than getting from one place to another. It is about thoughtful planning, warm Kiwi hospitality, friendly small groups, wonderful Kiwi Guides, local hosts, interesting places and all the little details that help make a tour feel relaxed, personal and memorable.

Being recognised for Excellence in Customer Experience is a lovely acknowledgement of the care shown by our whole Moa team, from the office through to our Kiwi Guides on the road.

Being named a finalist in People’s Choice is just as special, because that category is shaped by the support of people connected to the business - travellers, supporters, suppliers, staff, local hosts and communities.

So, most importantly, thank you.

Whether you voted for us, travelled with us once, joined us many times, recommended us to a friend, left a review, filled in a feedback form or simply followed along with our tours, your support means so much to us.

This recognition belongs to our whole Moa community, and we are very grateful to have you as part of it.

Thank you for being part of the MoaTours community and for helping us continue sharing the very best of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

One of our favourite hosted lunches... Crosshills Farm, Otorohanga 🌿

There are some places our travellers talk about long after the tour has finished, and Crosshills Farm is certainly one of them.

Hosted by Debbie and Fraser Robertson, this beautiful Waikato farm offers more than just a delicious lunch. Travellers are welcomed into a stunning country garden overlooking rolling farmland, where genuine Kiwi hospitality is always on the menu. It's the perfect opportunity to slow down, connect with local hosts and experience the warmth that makes rural New Zealand so special.

You'll enjoy this memorable stop on our:
🌸 Taranaki Rhododendrons & Springtime Gardens
🎭 World of WearableArt Show
🌺 Country Roads & Cross Hills Gardens Fair

It's these authentic local experiences and wonderful people that make our small group escapes so memorable.

Have you ever visited New Zealand's largest farm?

Molesworth Station is one of those incredible places that most Kiwis have heard of, but few have actually experienced.

Covering an astonishing 180,787 hectares (about the size of Stewart Island!), Molesworth is New Zealand's largest working farm. Home to around 6,000 Angus and Angus-Hereford cattle, it's a remarkable place where farming, conservation, history and spectacular high-country landscapes all come together.

On our Molesworth Station, Abel Tasman & Golden Bay 7 day tour, we head deep into this remote country with a local guide aboard a specially customised 4WD coach.

Over seven unforgettable days we'll also:
- Relax in Hanmer Springs
- Cruise the golden coastline of Abel Tasman National Park
- Visit the crystal-clear Te Waikoropupū Springs
- Explore Golden Bay and Farewell Spit with a local guide
- Wander the boutique shops and cafés of Mapua Wharf

Everything is taken care of, including return flights from Auckland, accommodation, meals, sightseeing, and the company of one of our friendly Kiwi Guides.

With a maximum of 18 travellers, it's a relaxed way to discover some of New Zealand's most spectacular and lesser-known places.

Upcoming departures:
- 2 November 2026 – just 3 seats left
- 18 November 2026 – filling up
- 28 February 2027 – sold out
- 11 April 2027 – filling up

If you've always wanted to experience Molesworth Station, followed by the beaches of Abel Tasman and the relaxed charm of Golden Bay, this could be the perfect journey.
