Our 6 Day East Cape Caper explores one of the North Island’s most wonderfully remote regions, with local flavours, fascinating stories and warm Kiwi hospitality along the way.
- Cruise Ohiwa Harbour with the Tio Ohiwa Oyster Farm crew and enjoy fresh seafood and lunch on the water.
- Visit East Cape Manuka Honey for a cuppa and a chat with Sue about beekeeping, Manuka trees and life on the East Cape.
- Explore Rere Falls and Eastwoodhill, the world-renowned National Arboretum, before heading to Bushmere Estate for lunch and wine tasting.
- Travel through Waihau Bay and Hicks Bay, visit Raukokore Church and St Mary’s Church at Tikitiki, and walk along Tolaga Bay Wharf.
- Journey through Waioeka Gorge and the Rotorua lakes before experiencing the Redwoods Treewalk.
- Finish with a special farewell lunch with Karen and David at Lake Tarawera before visiting Te Wairoa Buried Village.
It’s a wonderful six days of local food, coastal scenery, history, great company and remote places that make the East Cape feel very different from the usual touring routes.
