📍Southern Odyssey: Stewart Island & The Catlins - 7 day tour

From the rugged beauty of The Catlins to the unforgettable wildlife encounters on Stewart Island/Rakiura, our Southern Odyssey tour continues to leave travellers inspired 🩵

We wanted to share a few wonderful reviews from travellers who recently joined us:

⭐ "Wow! What a fantastic tour, the Southern Odyssey, it had it all.
From gorgeous scenery to seeing kiwis and albatross in their natural surroundings, lovely fellow travellers, yummy food, great accommodation and our wonderful Kiwi Guide. I honestly cannot fault this tour."
- Maggie, April 2026

⭐"I chose this tour because I wanted to see the kiwi on Stewart Island, which I did.
Saw sea lions and lots of native birds. MoaTours covered everything, great hotels and meals. Our group was friendly and inclusive to me as a solo traveller."
- Jennie, November 2025

⭐"The whole holiday 'made my heart sing'
This tour took us to so many places where we could meet and talk to interesting and talented people at their work or craft environment. That is, I think, a major feature of MoaTours. Our guide was excellent; always friendly, helpful and prepared to make our experiences just that little bit more memorable. The whole holiday 'made my heart sing', and for that I thank you very much. This was our eighth tour with MoaTours, which possibly tells you something about both ourselves and yourselves.”
- Richard, February 2026

🌺 Canterbury Springtime Gardens - 7 day small group tour

What we love about the Canterbury Springtime Gardens tour is the landscapes, the homesteads, the fresh burst of spring colour, but most importantly the warm hospitality from the gardeners themselves.
The experience brings together some of the region’s finest private gardens, and a visit to the Hanmer Springs Fete - a real country highlight with music, food, and boutique stalls.

The tour departs on 29 October, right in the middle of Spring when the colourful blooms are at their best.

All meals are included on the tour, including six special garden lunches with four privately hosted just for MoaTours, which include:

🩵 Akaunui Homestead Garden with Ian & Di Mackenzie.
With over 10 hectares of wonderfully mature gardens, Akaunui is impressive on a really large scale, the garden offers such diversity that you will return home inspired.

🩵 Blythcliffe House Garden, Akaroa, with John and Lesley Harding.
Built in 1857, the architecture of Blythcliffe and the expansive garden reflects its history.

🩵 Coombe Farm Garden, Akaroa, with Kathrine and Hugh Fraser
The beautifully restored Coombe Farm Homestead was originally built for French whaler Bernard Mora and his wife Mary.

🩵 Ohinetahi Garden, Governors Bay
Celebrated for over 1.25 hectares of garden, Ohinetahi is home to two galleries, sculpture and woodland trails, and a significant 19th century homestead.

In addition to these special garden visits, there are many more gardens to enjoy, including the Giants House, Fishermans Bay Garden, Cottonwood Garden, Saddlewood Garden.

This popular tour only runs in October each year. We are already taking bookings so if you would like to learn more about this tour or to secure your spot, give us a call on 0800 662 462.
