Our new method of transport- a cruise/ eastern Mediterranean itinerary. 9 nights - I think we’ll be relaxed by the end. A highlight apart from stops in different ports was catching up with family in Athens once again .

Last cycling day 😢along the coast .Stunning coloured water and beaches , Stopped for a swim , and lunch at a beach bar then stopped to read about the torres( towers) where they used to light fires to warn of pirates and invaders , and eventually to our new hotel. A funky multilevel , multi coloured hotel , lots of bunting across the streets.
Had an amazing dinner of lightly seared red and black sesame encrusted tuna. A memorable end to our ride,

Saying goodbye to island life we cycle over the causeway and back onto mainland Sardinia. New destination is another Agrituismo - a few more undulating roads and hill climbs but also long stretches along the coast.

So, following our ‘awful day’ on our downhill next day , we rode past spectacular scenery to our lovely hotel in Portoscuso and had a wonderful time and much needed relax at the beach. Picnic tea by our pool

Cycling in good weather is great and we had it good for a few days and we managed to enjoy scenic riding through rural areas, stop for beers st beach bars ,but …day 3 the weather deteriorated as we started our 1000mt incline , thunder lightening and torrential rain Robyn’s derailer broker meaning she couldn’t peddle.and to top it off we had no internet coverage - eeek
Some of the group stayed with her . I rode to a nearby goat farm and after much gesticulating And broken Italian the goatherd took off in his tractor to rescue Robyn and bring her and her bike to his place. All completely saturated . Another driver came took her to a hotel 5km away to wait out the cycle company van. So that left myself, Buzz Florence and Allan Nicholas to try find the rest of the group.
After taking a wrong turn we eventually found some of the group then had to cycle the bakance to find our Agriturisimo .still heading uphill the torrential rain that had now stopped had carved out some of the tracks making riding difficult then just when i thought it couldn’t get any worse my gears packed up … still on an uphill slog , and 3 and half hours later arrived at our accommodation - knacked, a long day
