Today on the menu in Istanbul, a kind of chicken stew with green small peppers (not spicy), tomatoes and possibly onions. A lovely cheese sprinkled on to that which melted to perfection. And finally covered with Turkish flatbread and baked till crispy. It had a woody flavour, so I suspect maybe in a wood fired oven. It was so simple and delicious. I forgot to get the menu back to add its name to this post and have decided to hunt out the recipe on my return home.

When in Fira eat where the locals eat. We had the best meals of our trip (2x) at a little taverna called a must place to eat, where the meat in, our case goat and pork belly, was slow cooked in a wood fired oven. I loved both the prawn 🍤 pasta and the staganaki. Best salad I have had in a while. The most amazing owner, we felt like family. Thank you for this incredible experience.

Outstanding in Freo, highlight was the Cauli with a spicy peanut sauce and coconut cream thingy, but also the barramundi green curry, delicious!
Highly recommend in the beautiful old synagogue.

When in London, Soho… this is a must visit, but book early. Vegetarian/Vegan delishiousness. Out of this world flavours, textures and scents. I will never forget this lunch with a lovely friend. I think that I may have become a vegetarian… Oh and I have booked for next week with himself.
