🚲 Fun Fact Friday: E-Bike: Denmark & Sweden. Edition #2 — Moose on the Move!

Fun fact: Did you know that in Sweden, there's a road sign that warns drivers about... moose? 🫎

With Sweden's vast forests and countryside, moose crossings are common enough to have their own dedicated warning signs. These impressive animals can stand over 2 metres tall and are an iconic part of the Scandinavian landscape.

While we're not promising a moose sighting on our Denmark & Sweden E-Bike Tour, keep your camera handy. You never know what wildlife might appear around the next bend! 📸🚴‍♀️

Just remember... if you do spot a moose, it definitely has right of way. 😉

✨🌄‍South Caucasus Tour 🌄‍✨

🗓️ Day 14: One Last Big Day in Armenia!

As their South Caucasus adventure neared its end, the group packed plenty into one last day.

The morning began at Khor Virap, with spectacular views of Mt Ararat and stories of Noah's Ark, before heading to the famous Ararat Brandy Factory. The tasting proved popular, and more than a few bottles found their way into suitcases bound for New Zealand! 🥃

After lunch, the group enjoyed a truly special visit with a master duduk musician. Surrounded by a peaceful garden, ancient melodies, tea and cake, it was one of those authentic travel moments that will be long remembered. 🎶☕

The day finished at Vernissage Market, where souvenirs, handicrafts and treasures of every kind tempted everyone into a final Armenian shopping spree. 🛍️

An early farewell dinner brought the adventure to a close, with plenty of memories to reflect on before the journey home.

❤️ What a wonderful way to finish an unforgettable South Caucasus journey.

🗓️ Day 13: Saints, Secrets & Stories: A Day Through Armenia’s Past

The group spent the day uncovering some of Armenia’s most fascinating stories, from the ancient St Hripsime Church and the spiritual heart of the nation at Echmiadzin, to the impressive ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral.

A delicious garden lunch at the colourful Zara’s Tasty Kitchen provided a warm taste of Armenian hospitality before a moving visit to the Armenian Genocide Museum, a powerful reminder of the resilience of the Armenian people.

The day concluded at the remarkable Matenadaran Manuscript Museum, home to priceless ancient texts, before an evening of dining, people-watching and soaking up the atmosphere of Yerevan. The famous dancing fountains may not have appeared, but the city's charm was on full display.

Fun fact: Did you know that in Copenhagen, bikes outnumber cars?

And it's completely normal to see people cycling to work in business suits, carrying groceries, walking the dog or even transporting the kids. Some cargo bikes are so big they look like they're moving house! 🚲📦🐶

🗓️ Day 13: Temples, Tunes & Tandoors

Our group ventured east of Yerevan, discovering some of Armenia's most remarkable treasures.

At Garni Temple, a beautifully restored pagan temple perched above a dramatic gorge, they explored a fascinating piece of Armenia's ancient past. The journey then continued to Geghard Monastery, where churches and chapels have been carved directly into solid rock. The highlight? A surprise performance by a local female singing group whose voices filled the stone chamber with breathtaking harmonies. It was a truly unforgettable experience. 🎶✨

Lunch was equally memorable, with traditional lavash-making at a family home followed by a feast beneath the apple trees. Fresh bread, local flavours, and even the chance to pick apples straight from the branches made for a perfect afternoon. 🍎🥖

Back in Yerevan, some enjoyed a stroll through the city's quirky public art and famous Cascades before ending the day with a drink and a chat at the hotel bar.

🗓️ Day 12: From Georgia to Armenia: A Day of Monasteries & Mountain Views

Today our group said farewell to Georgia and journeyed south into Armenia. After an easy border crossing, they were welcomed by their new Armenian guide and treated to ever-changing scenery, from rushing river valleys and forested hillsides to colourful autumn landscapes. 🚍🌄

A highlight of the day was exploring the remarkable Haghpat Monastery ⛪, where centuries-old stone carvings, fascinating history and peaceful surroundings offered a glimpse into Armenia’s rich cultural heritage. A stop at the breathtaking Lake Sevan 🌊 provided spectacular views across one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. Under clear blue skies, it was the perfect place to pause and take in the beauty of Armenia.

Arriving in the capital, Yerevan 🏙️, later in the afternoon, the group settled into their hotel and reflected on another wonderful day filled with history, culture, stunning scenery, and warm local hospitality. ❤️
