📢 More choice for international students using New Zealand’s Funds Transfer Scheme (FTS).

Eligible international students studying at a New Zealand university or polytechnic can now choose Bank of New Zealand BNZ, alongside ANZ, to transfer and hold their funds while studying in New Zealand.

A few things to know:

🔹 BNZ’s FTS option is available to eligible university and polytechnic students.
🔹 Students attending Private Training Establishments (PTEs) can continue to use ANZ.
🔹 The FTS is currently available to eligible students from China, India, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

The Funds Transfer Scheme provides a secure way for eligible international students to transfer funds to New Zealand and access them throughout their studies.

New Zealand now has three pathways to residence under the Skilled Migrants Category, each with different eligibility requirements:

🔶 6-Point Skilled Migrant Category
For skilled migrants who can reach the required 6 points through eligible New Zealand occupational registration, qualifications or income, combined with skilled work experience in New Zealand where required.

🔶 Skilled Work Experience Pathway
For eligible people in ANZSCO Skill Level 1–3 occupations who meet the relevant work experience, New Zealand skilled work and wage requirements.

🔶 Trades & Technicians Pathway
For people working in specified eligible trade and technician occupations who meet the qualification, relevant work experience and New Zealand work requirements.

The important thing to remember is that each pathway has its own criteria and your occupation, qualifications, income and work history can all affect which option may be available to you.

Immigration New Zealand has introduced new 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for dedicated partnership-based visa categories.

Under the new rules:
🔶 Both the 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 must be 𝟭𝟴 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 when the application is made.
🔶 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 will only be recognised from the point when 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝟭𝟴 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿.

The changes apply across a range of partnership-based work, visitor and residence visas and may affect when some couples become eligible to apply.
