Travelling with us from Kaitaia Airport? ☀️

Please be aware that the road to Kaitaia Airport (Quarry Road) will be closed from the Awanui end for bridge repairs, with detours in place, from 3 March 2025. So please allow yourself plenty of time to travel to the airport before your flight.

The road is expected to be closed for a period of approximately three to four months.

Travelling with an infant or child this summer? Check out these tips from the team.

We look forward to welcoming you and your whānau on board a Barrier Air flight soon. ✈️

1️⃣ TRAVELLING WITH AN INFANT
Infants under two years old travel for free. However, they must sit on an accompanying adult’s lap for the duration of the flight. Our team will provide you with an extra infant safety belt, which must be worn for the duration of the flight.

2️⃣TRAVELLING WITH CAR SEATS AND PRAMS
Please note that car seats and prams are part of your checked-in
luggage allowance.

3️⃣ UNACCOMPANIED MINORS TRAVEL
Children aged 5 to 12 travelling without an adult 16 years or older are considered “unaccompanied minors”. If your child is travelling as an unaccompanied minor with us, save time at check-in and make sure to print off and fill in the ‘Unaccompanied Minor Form’ (on our website) before arriving at the airport.
