Winter nights on Great Barrier Island are something special. Clear air, deep darkness, and a night sky that feels impossibly close.

Wrap up warm, look up, and take it all in, this is stargazing the way it’s meant to be in an International Dark Sky Sanctuary. For that expert touch, book a night sky tour with our friends Heavens

King’s Birthday weekend is not too far away and is the perfect excuse for a long weekend escape.

Whether you’re into vineyard lunches and coastal walks on Waiheke Island, or a slower off-grid escape to Great Barrier Island, now’s the time to lock in your sailing.

Long weekends can get pretty busy, and sailings can fill quickly, especially for vehicle spaces. The best idea is to book in advance.

Unlock the Hauraki Gulf this King’s Birthday with SeaLink.

No car? No problem! Waiheke just got even easier to explore.

If you’re travelling as a foot passenger, you can now Uber straight from Kennedy Point to some of the island’s best spots. From long lunches at The Heke, to wine tasting at Stonyridge Vineyard or Batch Winery, and relaxed afternoons at Wild Estate. Waiheke is your oyster!

Step off the ferry and cruise your way around the island. Not to mention, the weather looks amazing this weekend.

Every day is a little different here at SeaLink. From time to time, we’re called on to help with mahi that sits outside our business as usual.

Most days, we’re in the business of transporting people and their vehicles to and from the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Today, though, the cars were travelling unaccompanied.

Working alongside Auckland Transport as part of a clean up effort on Rakino Island, we’re helping remove old vehicles that have been left to fall into disrepair. These cars pose both environmental and health and safety risks, so it’s good to be part of the solution.

We’ll be back soon to pick up a few more.
