Visa Fast Track scheme lands the Head of Immigration at Bali Airport on fast track to prison, pocketing about NZ$600 - $700 per day from extortion!!

Hariyo and four Immigration officers from Ngurah Rai Airport, Tuesday were arrested because they were suspected of committing extortion on the fast track lane for foreigners at the airport.

This route is a prioritized service for the elderly, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and Indonesian migrant workers (PMI). The aim is to break up the queue at the airport immigration counter. There is no charge for this service.

Prosecutors confiscated around Rp. 100 million in the operation. Hariyo, faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

A quick sample of Myeongdong street food, Seoul, South Korea. The weird and wonderful is there to try so bring a pocketful of cash.
We tried deboned chicken feet - probably won't be back for seconds, flame grilled lobster tail with cheese, an orea churro, candied fruit, egg bread (that's like an egg cooked on top of a muffin), octopus skewers and a cup of fried baby crabs. Such a great atmosphere and well worth a night checking it out.

During our time in Sumba we were privileged to be able to visit the Best Resort in the World - Nihi Resort. Divine hardly begins to describe it.

This is Labuan Bajo, the stopping off point to see the Komodo Dragons. Currently it still very much feels like a quaint fishing village but in the surrounding area are luxury resorts including AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach. We stayed cheap nearby the fish market. Our little hotel had fantastic views over the harbour, especially the sunsets.

The fish markets were interesting with plenty of dried fish nicely stacked as well as a massive variety of fresh fish. Pretty smelly though...

At the other end of the harbour the bbq fish carts come out at night and cook up a wonderful array of fresh seafood.

Nearby is the nearly complete harbourside marina shopping mall and hotel. While it's nice to have modern air conditioned mall type shops I how it doesn't change the fishing village feel that makes Labuan Bajo unique
