We recently completed the ‘Authentic Travel Seller’ training modules created by AU.co.nz for NZ travel sellers. The training modules showcase Māori cultural education around mihimihi, engaging with marae and protocols, and manaakitanga/tiakitanga. The modules were meaningful, giving background into Māori culture and the core values particularly relevant to tourism. Describing the deep connections that arise from respectful cultural interactions and a commitment to guardianship and sustainability. The practices and protocols discussed are hugely important to acknowledge, understand and respect.

Yesterday, we proudly welcomed Cunard’s brand new luxury cruise liner, Queen Anne, to Auckland on her maiden voyage.

Her arrival was not just an exciting moment for cruise ship lovers, it also brought a significant boost to Auckland’s economy. From local tour operators and restaurants to suppliers restocking the ship, her visit supported businesses across the region. Passengers explored Waiheke Island, Devonport, Waitakere West Coast and Auckland City, enjoying the very best our city has to offer with our amazing tour operators. Guests were immersed in culture and saw all the city sights and experiences, they enjoyed the beautiful West Coast Wilderness and Waiheke Island wineries.

As Cunard’s first new ship in 14 years, Queen Anne is currently on her 107-day maiden world voyage, visiting 30 ports across 18 countries after departing from Southampton last year.

With 14 decks, 15 dining options, and a stunning mix of Art Deco elegance and modern luxury, Queen Anne is setting a new standard for ocean travel. We’re thrilled to have been part of her maiden journey and look forward to welcoming her back to Auckland in the future.

Check out our photos for a sneak peak inside the beautiful Queen Anne 👑

It's a bittersweet day as we say farewell to Stan, our beloved Dunedin Port Manager for IDNZ.

Dunedin won't quite be the same without him – it's losing a true fixture, and paradise will be a little less bright. We'll especially miss his "paradise posts" and the legendary box of fluffy ducks!

Stan's tenure has been remarkable. Even way down at the bottom of the South Island, he's seen it all. From countless Key Account Managers and a few unexpected medical emergencies, to the never-ending saga of late trains, a ship explosion, and shuttle dramas... Stan has handled every challenge with a smile. He's truly one of a kind – the one and only Stan the Man!

We wish him all the best in his new role and hope it brings him fulfillment.

Don't forget us, Stan!

It’s amazing to see the positive impact of cruise ship visits already shining through in our communities - welcoming visitors who are eager to explore, support local cafes, shops, and enjoy incredible tours.

Here’s to a season full of new faces and good vibes for our cities as we share the beauty of New Zealand 🇳🇿

The 2024/25 cruise season has officially commenced and it's exciting to see everything moving again!

Yesterday we welcomed thousands of guests from the Princess Cruises Diamond Princess, it’s always a pleasure to have her back in our waters 🛳️ ⚓️

A special thanks to our tour operators and partners for their continued commitment, the economic boost from these arrivals benefits us all and your efforts are essential in making that happen.

The P&O Pacific Explorer, a familiar face during our winter off season, we’re so sad to see you going soon with just two more turns before she leaves.
