RIDE Holidays Ride Holidays – Cycle Tours

Ride Holidays provides escorted group cycling tours & holidays. Tours Why Us? Our rides are not races. Amongst others.

Multiple Ride Options
RIDE Holidays cycle tours are achievable for anyone who rides a road bike, not just the serious cyclist. Generally - there are three rides to choose from - the less challenging 'cappuccino' (60km), 'latte' (80km) and the espresso - for those keen on 100km or more. Non-Riding Partners
We encourage non-riding partners (Team Macchiato) to join us. To ensure they enjoy themselves equally, we tailor events and activities throughout the tour for them. They won't just be sitting in the back of a van watching cyclists.

10 Week Training Program & Local Staff
Our guides are ego free. But neither is it a baguette and basket type tour either. You will be challenged which is why we provide a 10 week training program for the majority of our trips. We use a combination of local and Australasian staff. Quality Hotels
The hotels we use are picked for location and are generally 4 star. It's important to us that you eat, drink and sleep well. It's more than just a bike tour. COVID Update & Safety
In lieu of COVID-19, we have decided that we won't be travelling to Europe and North America in 2022. Focussing on our own back yard in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. Safety has always been our priority. We will monitor the situation closely and will get back to our favourite countries as soon as we possibly can. Local & Worldwide Destinations
You can still book for the likes of France, Italy, Canada etc however we won't take deposits. Our 2022 local calendar will continually evolve. The last couple of days have been a little kinder to the Japan crew! We’ve been following Japan’s beautiful Pacific coastline, heading north, with some fantastic coastal riding along the way before reaching the famous Shimanto River. Today, we headed inland from following the Shimanto River inland, up and over back down to the Pacific coast and our lovely seaside accommodation. Another couple of fantastic days exploring Japan, visiting a fabulous temple and we have even started to look a more “local” at dinners too!

Another fantastic couple of days cycling in Japan, riding from Uchiko down to Cape Ashizuri. We’ve followed stunning coastal roads, wound our way through the mountains, and soaked up some incredible scenery along the way.
At Cape Ashizuri, the Uwa Sea meets the mighty Pacific Ocean, creating a dramatic and rugged coastline that feels a world away from where we started.
Queen stage for most today, an impressive 127km , on a warm humid day!

Team Japan enjoyed a well-earned rest day here in Uchiko!

Most of the team got creative with traditional Washi paper-making and the art of gilding, crafting their own unique postcards. There was some genuine artistic talent shining through!

The day finished on a high with an evening of sake tasting, followed by dinner at a fabulous sushi restaurant, with a little more sake pairing to round things off.

A wonderful day of culture, creativity, great food and great company in beautiful Uchiko!

Autumn in Japan aligned with a clear day meant the crew could enjoy and epic climb up Ishizuchi Mountain Range via the UFO Line, shades of red, orange, and gold with stunning vistas was a great distraction while they legs ticked over…rewarded by a 20km downhill and that was just half the days riding.
