Recently completed job to replace a very tired and beaten up entrance gate that had seen better days. Old gate had been subject to age and weathering plus a couple of car accidents from silly drivers not staying on the road!

So I've finished a morning job out in Ardmore today and on way home popped into Clevedon Strawberries on Alfriston-Ardmore Road to buy a large punnet of strawberries. So thinking since I'm there got myself a delicious Strawberry Ice cream for morning tea! This day just got better.

This was my work area yesterday morning for 3 hours to install underfloor installation. LuckIy l don’t mind small spaces as I do caving as a recreational activity. Yes I had full PPE - gloves, P2 rated mask, eye protection, knee pads, gumboots, full body overalls.

Recent outdoor garden job to extend an existing raised garden bed (using reclaimed NZR railway sleepers). Luckily manage to do between the spate of wet Auckland weather.
Handy Andy Tip 1: For a raised garden against a fence, put H4 rated/treated retaining timber in. Do not use the fence paling to hold soil as this timber is not rated for ground contact. Pine Paling are H3.2 treated for outdoor use above ground only.
Handy Andy Tip 2: If using a raised garden for food/vegetable production, line the inside raised timber retaining with a liner material (such as plastic) before back filling with soil. This should prevent leaching of the timber preservatives.

Another recycle/reuse/reduce project - relay a paver pathway. Only new materials was base course, sand and cement. Reused (and cleaned up) the pavers.

RECYCLE / REUSE / REDUCE - this is something I like to do in my jobs.
A recent kitchen job was a great example of this.
I rearranged the existing kitchen cabinet units to fit a new wider and taller fridge. Why get a complete set of new cabinets when you can reused most of the existing ones?
The only new build part was the open above fridge cabinets. This was a Kaboodle 900mm Kitset Slimline Cabinet on the top level and I repurposed part of the original fridge unit to build the underside open shelf. The remaining bottom part of the fridge unit was a new end cabinet (left bottom side of the cabinets) as the original was water damaged beyond repair.
