Today, the New Zealand Government announced the next steps to enable a safe reopening of our border in 2022 without staying in MIQ;
 
- January 16, 2022: fully vaccinated New Zealanders can travel from Australia with a self isolation period of 7 days.

- February 13, 2022: fully vaccinated New Zealanders will be able to travel from all but very high risk countries with a self isolation period of 7 days.

- April 30, 2022: Opening to fully vaccinated foreign nationals (possibly staged by visa category) with a self isolation period of 7 days.
