🌍 Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry – Part Three

And just like that… 17 incredible days have come to an end 🇿🇦🏉

Our final chapter took us to Kapama Private Game Reserve, which was a truly special way to finish the journey. Days were spent immersed in the African bush, with early morning and afternoon game drives bringing unforgettable wildlife encounters, spectacular landscapes and those magical moments that you simply can’t plan for.

Then it was back to Johannesburg and the iconic FNB Stadium in Soweto for the final All Blacks v Springboks clash. The result may not have been what we hoped for, but the atmosphere was incredible - a stadium full of passion, pride and an appreciation for one of sport’s greatest rivalries. 🖤🇿🇦

Most of all, it was the people who made this tour so memorable. Spending 17 days travelling with Sir Graham and Lady Raewyn Henry and such a wonderful group of New Zealanders created friendships, stories and memories that will last well beyond the final whistle.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on tour for your enthusiasm, your good humour, your adventurous spirit and for making it such a memorable group to travel with ❤️

And a very special thank you to Ted and Raewyn for bringing everyone together in the amazing way that you do for an experience they’ll never forget.

10 years of Fortis Events!

Ten years ago, Fortis Events began with a single ambition - to bring people together for events and experiences they would never forget.

From incentive trips and conferences, sports tours built around the world’s biggest sporting moments, unforgettable local experiences and everything in between - we’ve been incredibly fortunate to create and deliver so many memorable experiences for our clients in NZ and around the world.

But when we look back, it’s not just the destinations, the venues or the events that stand out. It’s the people.

🌍 Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry - Part Two

After the excitement of Johannesburg and the magic of Victoria Falls, our RGR tour continued to one of South Africa’s most spectacular cities, Cape Town, where dramatic mountain scenery, incredible food, culture and the Atlantic Ocean come together 🇿🇦✨

With Table Mountain as our backdrop, we explored this incredible city, taking in the panoramic views from the summit before enjoying a memorable evening of Cape Malay-inspired cuisine and a little Djembe drumming at Spyced. 🌄🎶🍽️ Some of the group also visited Robben Island, which holds a unique place in history.

Then came another highlight - the second Test of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, as the All Blacks took on the Springboks at DHL Stadium. While it wasn’t our night, the atmosphere was electric 🖤🏉💚

We then headed into the beautiful Cape Winelands, settling into the stunning Hazendal Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Surrounded by vineyards and mountain views, it was the perfect place to slow the pace, enjoy great food and wine, and soak up the spectacular surroundings. 🍷🌿

Another incredible chapter of this unforgettable journey, hosted by Sir Graham and Lady Raewyn Henry.

🌍 Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry – Part One

Hosted by Sir Graham and Lady Raewyn Henry, our Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour kicked off last week! 🇿🇦🏉

From the energy of Johannesburg and exploring Soweto and the Apartheid Museum, to the incredible atmosphere of the All Blacks v Springboks clash at Ellis Park - the tour started with history, culture, world-class rugby, and warm hospitality at African Pride Melrose Arch.

Then it was across to Zambia and the spectacular Victoria Falls 🌊✨ The group stayed at The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara for three nights, soaking up one of the world’s great natural wonders.

With time to explore, unwind and enjoy the magic of the Zambezi, highlights included a sunset cruise and braving the Devil’s Pool.

July took our clients from Port Douglas to the Gold Coast, Singapore to Japan ✈️

🌴 Our Hynds group enjoyed the relaxed vibe of Port Douglas for five nights. Highlights included a private charter to the beautiful Low Isles on the Great Barrier Reef, and some fantastic hospitality at local venues throughout their stay.

☀️ Over on the Gold Coast, another corporate group enjoyed a few days together celebrating their team achievements and making the most of the warm weather with an Aussie BBQ and a private charter of YOT Club.

🇯🇵 NZ LAW & NZ CA travelled to Japan for their offshore conference, which was held during the school holidays to allow families to join the group. Over seven nights the group experienced meaningful cultural moments, unforgettable cuisine, and the opportunity to network and learn from each other.

🇸🇬 We also organised a social programme for a group visiting Singapore, bringing together dining experiences and time to explore the city with a unique group activity.

A big thanks to our local partners in each destination whose knowledge, connections and hospitality help us create meaningful experiences for our groups.

Between delivering these events, the Fortis Events team came together at JW Marriott Auckland for our own planning day – a valuable chance to step away from the day-to-day, share ideas, celebrate the past six months and focus on the exciting projects ahead.

More great destinations, plenty of memorable moments and another busy month doing what we love.

From the bright lights of Tokyo to the moving history of Hiroshima and the timeless beauty of Kyoto, the NZ LAW & NZ CA conference in Japan this month was one to remember 🇯🇵

Our group enjoyed local hospitality, meaningful cultural moments and unforgettable cuisine, as well as business learning and connection.

From travelling on the Shinkansen and reflecting at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to wandering Kyoto’s historic streets and temples, every destination offered a unique perspective on Japan.

A special thank you to our exceptional local guides, whose warmth, knowledge and storytelling brought Japan’s rich culture, traditions and history to life. Their passion gave our group a much deeper appreciation of this beautiful country and made the experience all the more memorable.

California dreaming... and what a road trip it was. 🇺🇸🏁🌴

From the iconic streets of San Francisco to the stunning coastline of Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica and San Diego, last month’s GT Members adventure was packed with unforgettable experiences.

Highlights included:

✨ Riding across the Golden Gate Bridge and exploring Alcatraz
🚗 An epic self-drive road trip along California’s spectacular coast
🔥 Beach bonfires, s’mores and sunset moments
🎬 Hollywood landmarks and the famous Santa Monica Pier, complete with dinner at Bubba Gump’s
⛴️ A private San Diego harbour cruise at sunset
🏁 And, of course, the ultimate finale – cheering on Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen at NASCAR’s historic first-ever race held at Naval Base Coronado.

Some journeys are worth the wait... ❄️🐻‍❄️

After two years in the making, our client’s unforgettable Arctic adventure with Ponant became a reality last week.

From witnessing majestic polar bears in their natural habitat, to experiencing 24 hours of daylight in a true winter wonderland and seeing glaciers calving, this truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Here’s a few pics of the dramatic fjords and pristine polar landscapes that our group of 90 Kiwis experienced onboard the luxurious Le Lyrial last week.

May was a busy one at Fortis Events 🌏✈️

From the wild beauty of Stewart Island and unforgettable shark encounters, to the excitement of Sail GP in New York City, our guests have been busy enjoying incredible experiences both in NZ and around the globe.

We also had a group conferencing in Sydney by day and enjoying the lights of Vivid Sydney by night, while our walkers made lifelong memories on the Portuguese Camino, and the amazing Solo Girls Run Club community enjoyed an inspiring escape to Noosa.

From a research perspective, we had a valuable site visit to Shanghai, experienced the beauty of Tahiti as an incentive destination and checked out Sydney’s event scene - attending State of Origin and The Lion King and visiting a number of major venues across the city.

From major sporting events and conferences to active adventures and destination discovery, May reminded us why we love what we do – creating meaningful experiences and unforgettable memories around the world.
