⚠️ Advice for New Zealanders considering transit through the Middle East

We advise against all non-essential transit travel through the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

The security situation in the Middle East remains highly volatile and travellers could be stranded with little warning and few options.

Given this, we advise New Zealanders not to transit the Middle East, including through Dubai or Doha, unless their travel is absolutely essential and there are no other flight routes available through Asia or North America.

✈️ If you decide travelling through the region is necessary:

• Keep transit times to a minimum.
• Be prepared for flight cancellations, delays, and airspace closures.
• Check your travel insurance policy carefully, including any exclusions related to conflict or government travel advisories.

📍 UK ENTRY REQUIREMENT CHANGES

Please be aware of an important update to United Kingdom entry requirements that may affect you.

What is Changing -

UK Entry Requirements for Dual New Zealand–UK or New Zealand–Irish Citizens

From 25 February 2026, the UK Government has confirmed that New Zealand citizens who also hold British or Irish citizenship (dual nationals) must travel to the UK using one of the following:

A valid UK passport, or

A valid Irish passport, or

Another valid passport accompanied by a UK Certificate of Entitlement confirming the right of abode.

⚠️ Travellers will not be permitted to travel without one of these documents.

Example: If you have both a New Zealand and a British passport, you must travel on your British passport.

Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) – Important Clarification:

Dual UK or Irish nationals are not eligible for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

Good Morning to any of my clients born in the UK. If you currently hold a British Passport and a NZ Passport, this is great if you are intending travelling to the UK.
If you have not renewed your British Passport, but intend to travel to Britain, please renew it, even if it's been a few years. If you don't do this, you will not be able to enter the UK without renouncing your UK Citizenship which is quite costly.
This only applies to people born in the UK.
