Kiwis have some very specific hotel habits 👀

New research from Holiday Inn Express by IHG reveals 89% of New Zealand travellers have a ritual they do as soon as they check into a hotel room 🏨

Top habits include:
🧳 39% unpack immediately
🌡️ 34% adjust the room temperature first
🔌 34% scout out charging points
🛏️ 29% claim “their side” of the bed — even when travelling solo
🤣 31% of Gen Z and Millennials test the bounce of the hotel bed before unpacking

The report also found:
😴 21% need a wind-down routine before sleep
🧘 23% use meditation or deep breathing to relax
🛌 12% bring comfort items from home like pillows or eye masks
👀 21% of Gen Z check behind curtains or under beds before they can fully relax

And when it comes to sleep? Half of Kiwis say silence is essential for a good night’s rest while travelling.
