Farmers Market
Every morning Saturday from 8am - 12pm Cambridge holds its weekly Farmers Market offering local artisan honey, cheeses, seasonal fruits & vegetables, flowers and live music. Located on Victoria Square right beside the Intercity Coach Stop and across the road from the historic Cambridge Town Hall.

Sheep on farms are often painted or marked for several practical reasons:

Identification: Farmers use paint or markings to identify sheep for various purposes, such as tracking breeding, health, or ownership. Different colors or symbols can indicate different groups or individuals.

Breeding Management: Marking can help farmers keep track of breeding cycles. For instance, rams may be marked with a specific color of paint to indicate that they have mated with ewes, allowing farmers to monitor breeding activity.

Health Monitoring: Marking can also indicate vaccination status or health treatments. For example, sheep that have received vaccinations may be marked to prevent double treatment.

Sorting and Grouping: During shearing or when moving sheep between pastures, marks help farmers quickly sort sheep into appropriate groups.

Visibility: In some cases, bright paint can enhance visibility, making it easier to spot sheep in large pastures or hilly terrain.
