October is normally the one month that we get weekly wee dustings of snow overnight, this year we got 10 hours of continuous steady snow, resulting in 30cm of snow falling at 7C, after 4 days with highs averaging 22C...

An excellent competition below for the tweens & teens in your life. Bookworm Movie is released today in NZ cinemas and was filmed right here in our backyard. The scenery is amazing, so do get yoruself tickets (kids are optional as still very much a big kids movie too). Do wait for the credits to roll, you may recognise a couple of the hiker extras, and Castle Hill Village gets a special mention too!
