What an adventure our journey home turned out to be! 🚐☕🌧️

After three fabulous days exploring Dunedin with our wonderful Creative Kiwi crew, we were all set to head home by train. Unfortunately, the railway line ended up under nearly a metre of water, so the train was cancelled and it was straight to Plan B!
Thankfully, Mike was already driving the van back to Christchurch, so instead of an empty van, he had a full load of happy travellers. Along the way we kept ourselves entertained with plenty of coffees, scones, laughs and good company.
We stopped at Whitestone Cheese in Oamaru while waiting for the roads to reopen, then enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Mike's niece Rebecca and Fletcher's home in Weston. A huge thank you to you both for your warm hospitality, it was such a lovely surprise and very much appreciated by everyone. ❤️
The roads eventually reopened, and after a memorable day of unexpected detours, everyone arrived home safe and sound at 5.30pm. 🥰
A massive thank you to Mike for getting us home safely and to our fantastic group for taking everything in their stride. Sometimes the unplanned moments become the stories we'll remember the most!

Oh sh*t... Otira Road is closed!
Our West Coast trips seem to have developed a bit of a theme….
Not to worry though – we're currently living our best lives at Lake Brunner, warm and cosy in front of the fire while the roads sort themselves out.
We've been advised by Fulton Hogan to line up and wait for access through this afternoon.
The good news? Great company, a roaring fire, and no one seems too upset about an extended Lake Brunner stopover….

The drums they did beat and the pipes did blow, a fantastic excursion to Edinburgh Tattoo 75th year at Eden Park. Thanks to 19 wonderful travellers, thanks to Heartland Hotel Auckland airport, airnz , Eden park, boss black, and the outstanding performers who we met up with after the show. A truly wonderful experience enjoyed by all . Photos do tell 1000 words - oh and thanks to my able assistant Mike.

Well, we fa-la-la-laa’d our way through a fabulous day at the Kirwee Bowling Club for our 5th annual Creative Kiwi Travel event! Prizes were handed out, laughter was shared, and together we raised a wonderful $816 for Koru Care.
Thank you all so much for your support throughout 2025 - we truly appreciate each and every one of you. We’ve got some fantastic tours lined up for 2026, and we can’t wait to share them with you!

🌸 Hanmer Fete – What a Day! 🌸
A huge thank you to Sarah and the Soldiers Hall team, Catherine and Abbey from the Hanmer Fete, and Chris Hasselfree for all your wonderful help… and of course to everyone who travelled with us! It was a super day out filled with laughter, sunshine, and plenty of treasures to take home.

This was our last trip departing from Bucknell, and we truly went out with a bang!

Next adventure: Join us on 30 November for our Dot’s Castle Day Trip – $160 per person.
Enjoy a wander through Dot’s stunning castle and gardens, soak up the charm and creativity, and finish the day with a delicious lunch a perfect way to spend the day!
