Have you seen Ngatoroirangi Mine Bay Maori Rock Carvings?

Located on Lake Taupo, the 14m tall carving has been hailed as one of NZ's most extraordinary contemporary Māori artworks.

The carving was installed in 1976 by traditional marae-taught carver Matahi Whakataka-Brightwell with Jono Randell, Te Miringa Hohaia, Dave Hegglun and Steve Myhre, to create a spectacular carving of Ngatoroirangi on the rock face.

Fun facts about the most visited location in New Zealand, Hobbiton!

Hobbiton features an operational pub, the Green Dragon Inn fully constructed in 2012. It is a real, operational pub with a menu of drinks and light meals.

Angus, Tyler and Logan are all craft beer enthesiasts, and stoked to know there are three exclusive Southfarthing beverages available at the Green Dragon Inn. They host an apple cider, ginger beer and two ales.

More than 400,000 people from around the world visit Hobbiton every year. Hobbiton has been so frequently visited they welcomed their one millionth visitor in March 2015.

If Fiordland misses rain for five days, its considered a draught! Fiordland is the wettest inhabited place in New Zealand and one of the wettest places on earth with an average of 182 rainy days per year. "A little rain never killed nobody" - Fergie?

As Ferg said, don’t let a little rain discourage your plans. Fiordland comes alive with the rainfall, spontaneously creating hundreds of waterfalls that dance down from the surrounding cliff walls. It's truly breath taking, bucketlist worth for sure!
