An amazing day at the new Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. I was fortunate to visit 2 weeks prior to the official opening in October last year. Today's true highlight was visiting the Tutankhamun Gallery. I was on awe! Moving up the 13 level, 6.000 sq. metre Grand Staircase, exploring thousands of millinium, we were then dwarfed standing beside the magnificent 3 gold sarcophagus, from his tomb burial in 1323BC. Former Director General of the GEM, Dr Tarik Tawfik advises each day the Museum comfotably accomodates 14,000 to 15,000 visitors. This number remains constant as tourists continue to arrive in Egypt, knowing it is outside the Iran war and safe to visit. www.innovative-travel.com

There are no US bases here, life goes on as normal with tourists warmly welcomed. This morning I arrived into Cairo. As usual one of our lovely airport reps, Ibrahim was there to meet me PRIOR to immigration with clear signage and my included Egyptian visa. It was a simple process as Ibrahim popped the Egyptian visa into my passport. Then whisked through me through the Express Immigration Lane. It is the same smooth process all of our Innovative Travel Company clients benefit from. You are looked after from the moment you arrive, all the way through customs amd immigration, then accompanied to the waiting arrival transfer vehicle.

Hello from Hong Kong Airport in transit from Ho Chi Minh to Chengdu and then Egypt. This is my 7th flight in 16 days, flying via Air NZ, Vietnam Airlines, Cambodian Airlines and now Cathay Pacific. Every flight has departed as scheduled, minus any fuel surcharges! Airports are busy and it all seems like travel world normal. The hysteria about the scary world of travel, brings back memories of Covid, when we were led to believe "it is a scary world out there". Having just completed a CroisiEurope, Mekong cruise aboard a boutique small 24 cabin ship, we berthed at many small villages from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh. Local communities were welcoming and grateful for our tourism dollar spend which is key for their survival.
