Hank's favourite stretch of the Otago Central Rail Trail? The gorge sections.

The Prices Creek Tunnel is properly cold and properly dark — and the contrast when you come out the other side is something else. Then there's Poolburn Gorge: canyon walls, river far below, the kind of quiet you forgot existed.

In the 1890s someone decided to run a railway through all of this. They left us something good.

Five years of big views, wobbly legs, and memories made on two wheels. 🚴‍♀️🎉

The Lake Dunstan Trail turned 5 last Friday, and what a ride it's been. From those jaw-dropping suspension bridges to floating coffee stops on the lake, this trail has become one of New Zealand's most loved Great Rides, and we couldn't be prouder to call it ours.

Here's to the thousands of riders who've rolled through, the operators who've made the experience unforgettable, and the stunning Central Otago landscape that's done most of the hard work. 😍

One of the most dramatic moments on the journey 👀

After crossing the curved Flat Stream Viaduct, the train emerges into The Notches — a narrow section of track carved directly into the rock. Built using only hand tools and light blasting powder, this 300-metre stretch is one of the most challenging sections of the entire line.

A true highlight of the Taieri Gorge journey.
