Coromandel Town Information Centre is located in Kapanga Road, Coromandel Town in the Samuel James Reserve. We operate under the Thrive Coromandel Trust with assistance from Thames Coromandel District Council and we have a manager, Sandra Wilson, and an awesome team of volunteers.

A reminder that the bridge in Kennedy Bay is having repairs done, including to its deck. A full road closure will be put in place from 22-26 June to allow this work to take place.
Emergency vehicles will have uninterrupted access through the site at all times.
The road closure will be in effect daily from 9am-3pm with two periods to allow traffic through each day.

Weโ€™ve got an Orange Heavy Rain Warning in place from 8am to 8pm this Wednesday (24 June).

Itโ€™s looking like a decent soaking, with 70โ€“100mm of rain expected and some intense bursts during the day. Thereโ€™s even a chance of thunderstorms mixed in.

This kind of weather can quickly lead to rising rivers, surface flooding, slips, and tricky driving conditions, so itโ€™s worth taking a few simple steps now to stay ahead of it.

๐ŸŸฉ Clear out your gutters and drains before the rain hits
๐ŸŸฉ Avoid low-lying or flood-prone spots if you can
๐ŸŸฉ Take it slow and steady if youโ€™re out on the roads

Keep an eye on the MetService website and Council channels as the weather rolls through.
