This is how you do it! Hike through 15,000 acres of privatey owned mountains, four-wheel drive to the Homestead accommodation and settle into a few drinks and a home cooked meal.

Note; you don't have to climb a mountain, you can choose a cruisy bush walk instead.

This happy little chap lives around the Bush Hut they love meeting visitors. South Island Bush Robin spend a lot of time on the forest floor, leaving them vulnerable to predators. We've worked hard to trap the area and its great to see native species like these reestablish.

A lovely day for an Agritourism Regional Network meeting at Island Hills Station, including a farm 4wd tour, visits to the Valley Camp huts, Huntaway Homestead and farm museum. A very nice lunch at the Cookhouse including the Bush Janitors westcoast whitebait patties, and Kell's Kitchen Homemade catering, sponsored by GSI South Insurance.
Plus a surprise afternoon tea sponsored by new business Oil Rig Coffee who took their impressive 4x4 coffee truck out to a scenic lookout.
