We are HIRING!!!

At Fox Glacier Guiding, adventure is our middle name — and we’re always on the lookout for cool new talent to join our team. Nestled in the heart of New Zealand’s wild West Coast, we lead visitors on unforgettable journeys across one of the most breath taking glaciers on Earth. Our guides don’t just walk on ice — they break it, connecting people from around the world with the power and beauty of this ever-changing landscape.

If sharing epic stories, exploring stunning ice formations, and working in one of the most awe-inspiring environments on the planet sounds like your kind of adventure, this role might just be the coolest job you’ll ever have.

What you’ll do:
Lead adventurers from around the world across the icy playground of Fox Glacier
Keep guests safe, smiling and snapping unforgettable pics 📸
Share fun glacier facts that make people go “whoa!”
Work with a fun, skilled team who know the ropes – literally 🧗‍♂️

What we’re looking for:
Passion for the outdoors and a solid level of fitness 🥾💪
A current first aid cert ⛑️
Guiding experience is a plus – but enthusiasm, responsibility and a good attitude matter just as much
A solid sense of humour and ice-cold composure under pressure 😎
Available to work the full summer season (Oct–May) 📅
You must be eligible to work in New Zealand

Join the Team
Become part of a passionate team dedicated to sharing one of New Zealand’s most iconic natural wonders while ensuring safety, sustainability, and unforgettable experiences for every visitor. It’s time to take your career to new heights — and keep things chill while you’re at it.

Conservation Week is a chance to reflect on what makes this place so special.

Operating in a dynamic glacier environment means we see change up close, so protecting what we can matters more than ever.

Every trip supports our commitment to caring for this environment, now and into the future.

After more than 20 years on the ice, we’re farewelling a true legend of Fox Glacier Guiding 💙⛏️

Passang (Sherpa) has been part of the heart and soul of our guiding team for over two decades. From countless glacier days to sharing knowledge, humour, and perspective, his experience and presence have shaped not just incredible trips for our guests, but the guides who’ve had the privilege to work alongside him.

Passang is now moving on to a new chapter in Mt Cook, where he’ll be guiding with the team at Mt Cook Glacier Guiding. We wish you all the best!

Merry Christmas! 🎄✨
We hope you’re all having a wonderful day, full of laughter, good food, and time with the people who matter most. Whether you’re relaxing at home or enjoying the outdoors!

We’re taking a little festive break today and won’t be operating, but we’ll be back in the office tomorrow, ready to help you plan your next adventure on the glacier. Thanks for being part of our Fox Glacier family, we can’t wait to see you out on the ice soon!
Merry Christmas from the Fox Glacier Guiding Team

Heli hiking is all about getting up close to the glacier - feeling the ice beneath your boots and seeing its ever-changing features first-hand.

With Fox Glacier Guiding, your chances of making it onto the ice are high. We flew on a whopping 80% of days last year, meaning more operational days, more trips running, and more confidence when you book your glacier experience.

Why does a glacier guiding company run a predator trapline?

Because the glacier is only part of the place we work in. Every day we operate in a valley of native rainforest, rivers, and wildlife, and that environment deserves care beyond the ice itself.

Running a predator trapline is one practical way we contribute to protecting native species in the Fox Glacier valley, and a small but meaningful way of looking after the place that makes our work possible.
