Only three Senior games, all Cup ties, this weekend and all of them saw Thistle taking the win:
⚽ Athletic Bobcats were made to work hard by Gisborne United in the first half, with both teams looking fairly even, but Thistle upped their game in the second period and ended with a comfortable win
⚽ Pro Roofing came back from being a goal down at half time to lead 3 - 1 late in their game but were pegged back and the game ended 3 - 3. As it was a Cup Tie the winner had to be decided by penalties and the Jags held their nerve to win the shoot out 4 -2
⚽Enviro NZ put 7 past HSOG at Childers Road with Rylee Barker again on target, scoring four of the seven goals

Our teams now await the draw being made in midweek to see who they'll face in the next round of their respective competitions

SENIOR PRIZEGIVING:

You are invited to attend our Senior End of Season Prizegiving, which will be held on Saturday, September 12th. Doors open at 5 p.m., food will be available from 6 p.m. and the prizegiving begins at 7 o'clock.

Tickets are $10 per person and your ticket price includes a buffet meal of chicken, meats, glazed ham and a selection of gourmet salads.

A huge amount of work goes into organising this event so show your support and be there to help us celebrate our people and our Club.

It was a day of celebration today, with 2 Gisborne Thistle teams picking up silverware.

Coastal Radiology Under 13s have taken out the 2026 Under 13 Central Development League.

Athletic Bobcats have followed up their 2025 Tairawhiti Championship win by being crowned Champions again this year.

A massive achievement for both teams and congratulations to everyone involved in their successful seasons.

Two games at Childers Road tomorrow. The day starts with an all-Thistle match up as Versatile take on Thunder at 12.30, followed at 2.45 by Athletic Bobcats looking to make it back to back Tairawhiti Championship titles.

Our Coastal Radiology Under 13s will be ending their impressive season with a double header in Napier, against Palmerston North United and Palmerston North Marist.

***Under 19s training***

The journey towards the 2026 National Under 19 Tournament starts this Wednesday at 6 p.m. Training will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays until the completion of the Club and School football and then will transition to Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Attendance at training is compulsory for players who wish to be selected for the squad which will travel to Napier to represent the Club. Training attendance and attitude will be amongst the factors which will determine the selection of our 18 man squad.
