I’ve just stepped off the beautiful Celebrity Edge ship in Port Tauranga over at The Mount today. I was given the opportunity to check it out!

Celebrity is one of my favourite big ship cruise lines!
The Celebrity Edge is Cruising around Australia and New Zealand for the next two summers before it returns to Alaska for the northern hemisphere summer. Next season Celebrity Solstice (who is just going through a complete refurbishment!) is also going to be in our waters!

The ship is Beautifully appointed, with a choice 13 different restaurants! Fabulous indoor & outdoor entertainment options - Amazing Gym & Spa facilities, Kids clubs, a Casino and more!

2026 & 2027 bookings are already taking off…

I have a special deal for you… so if you’d like to cruise with Celebrity - get in touch with me!

Melbourne is a fabulous city to visit at any time and if you haven’t experienced the Australian Open yet, highly recommend. Currently the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the NGV is a real bonus . Spending time in the beautiful Yarra Valley is a must with its stunning scenery, Vineyards, Orchards, Wildlife Sanctuary, Gin Distilleries, a Chocolatier and so much more. Add it to your Bucket list.

This week, I had the privilege of visiting the stunning Scenic Eclipse II while she was in Auckland. Her first time in New Zealand, enjoying everything our country has to offer before she heads south to Antarctica.
This is Ultra-Luxury Cruising at its finest—just 222 guests (at the most) and a dedicated crew of 200. It’s more yacht than cruise ship, and the perfect vessel for those seeking extraordinary Expedition cruising plus focusing on stunning destinations around the world, including Europe, Asia, the Americas, and more
Onboard, you’ll find not one, but two helicopters, a submersible, Zodiacs, Kayaks and an expert Discovery Team to ensure a truly immersive adventure.
Plus, Scenic Eclipse II offers luxurious global itineraries, exploring destinations across the world.
Indulge in superb facilities: a fully-equipped gym, a serene spa, and exquisite dining spread across five beautifully designed restaurants.

It’s hard to describe the past two Weeks of my journey through East Africa, travelling through Uganda and Rwanda. Both countries incredibly poor, but also rich with fertile soils that grow fabulous fruit and vegetables year around to help feed the nations and some. The happiness in the people is another beauty as they go about their lives.
Home of the Chimpanzees and Mountain Gorillas which were both special life experiences and a fabulous Wildlife adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Uganda is a country smaller than NZ with a population of more than 47m and right across East Africa 30% of the population is under 30. Children go to school 6 days a week from the age of 3 years. Shall let the pictures tell the story ….

Here’s a laugh … The questions our Cruise Director has been asked ….
1. Do the crew sleep onboard??
2. Does the Elevator take you to the front or the back of the ship?
3. How small does my face have to be for the Mini-Facial?
4. Is the water in the toilet fresh or salt water?🤔
5. What time is the ‘Midnight’ Buffet?
6. Shall I leave my luggage outside my room before or after I go to sleep?
7. How far above Sea Level are we?
8. Do these stairs go up and down?

Pleased to report none of these were asked by Kiwi’s 😉

Great to be back in the Northern Hemisphere. First stop iconic London, then boarding the fabulous Viking Mars cruise ship in Greenwich. A 6 hour journey down the Thames (unfortunately in the middle of the night, but that didn’t discourage viewing) before sailing up to Edinburgh and onto the Orkney Islands, docking in Kirkwall and visiting Stromness. Today Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.
