Rome is one of the most walkable cities in Europe—just be prepared for a few hills (after all, it’s famously built on seven!).

Peta spent a magical morning strolling through some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks:
✨ Started at the Spanish Steps, where a climb to the top rewards you with sweeping views down Via dei Condotti.

✨ Tossed coins in the Trevi Fountain, built on an ancient aqueduct and drawing 10,000 visitors a day.

✨ Marvelled at her favourite building in the world—the Pantheon—a 2nd-century temple to many gods, still standing with its open-air oculus and hidden floor drains.

✨ Ended in Piazza Navona, once a Roman stadium, now home to street artists, cafés, and the glorious Fountain of the Four Rivers.

After 16 years, Peta returned to Rome, and her first stop couldn’t have been more perfect—the Colosseum, standing tall and majestic after 2000 years.

Wandering from her accommodation, she passed the Roman Forum, gazing into the ruins of a civilisation that continues to shape our world. She stood beneath the towering Victor Emmanuel II Monument in Piazza Venezia, where the modern city meets ancient glory.

🌊 From coastlines to chaos – Morocco’s grand finale

Our final stops brought even more wow moments. We sipped cocktails as the sun set over the Atlantic in Essouira, a laid-back coastal town that charmed us with its relaxed vibes and rooftop bars.

Then it was on to Marrakech – a riot of colour and sound, where snake charmers and street food vendors packed the bustling square. Watching the buzz from a rooftop with a tagine in hand? Absolute bliss.

✈️ Thinking of Morocco? A few travel tips:
▪️Morocco is predominantly Muslim – dress respectfully, especially outside the big cities (shoulders and knees covered is a good rule of thumb for women).
▪️Cash is still king in most places – especially for market shopping or your daily mint tea fix!
▪️Speaking of mint tea (aka Berber whisky) – it’s delicious, and you’ll be offered it everywhere.
