1969 HT Holden Monaro GTS (NZ New)
308ci V8 and factory 4 Speed Manual
Factory Sebring Orange with Black Stripes
Factory 80837 Car.
$195,000
Sold brand new by Schofield & Co Ltd (later to become Schofield Holden/HSV) first registered on the 7th of October 1969 and delivered to the first owner on the 15th of October the same year.
The current owner has owned the car for 25 years and has decided to downsize.
Originally a 253ci V8, this was changed out in the 1990s for the 308ci that resides in the car now, BUT don't panic the original numbers matching 253ci has been safely stored away and comes with the car, power steer has also been fitted from a period correct 1969 Brougham which makes the Monaro a little easier to maneuver, again the factory steering has been kept, so can be put back to factory steering.
The body of the car is in great condition, what rust was around the car was removed approx. 10 years ago, the factory Sebring Orange was retained when repainted after the repairs, the factory paint from 1969 can still be seen on the door jambs, under boot and front beaver panel.
The factory bucket seats, manual centre console, GTS dash and steering wheel still adorn the car.
The seats were recovered a number years ago in White Houndstooth material (code 10Y) the factory Blood Orange Houndstooth material (code 10Z) is now available for purchase so can be put back to factory.
The manual transmission is linked to the factory coarse spline banjo diff, the car was optioned with tramp rods which have been removed but also come with the car, the brackets for these are still in place.
The Monaro comes with the original handbook and owner protection plan booklet.
Overall, a great example of an iconic Australian muscle car that has been very well maintained and cared for by the current owner.
