Meet our guides!

This is Robyn

Robyn's love of walking started when her father would take her for walks and tramps through the Kaimai's and around the Coromandel. “Put me in a place with my walking shoes or boots and some native bush and I’m a happy camper”. Fishing, yoga and cooking round off her other happy places.

Born and raised on a farm in Tauranga, Robyn's family was blessed with an abundance of fresh food. As one of five siblings her family was tight, making the dining table a special place. “We always marvelled at the incredible selection of food that was presented when we got together. Studying parks and recreation management at Lincoln University, Robyn has a rich and varied background, working in events and recreation planning, environmental education and later finding a passion for the food and service industry.

The food on a Nature & Nosh tour isn't an afterthought. It's half the story.

This season, we want to introduce you to some of the makers behind what ends up on your plate; the farmers, the fermenters, the small-batch producers who are doing extraordinary things quietly, here in the north island.

Some of these places you can't just wander into. But you can with us.

First up, coming next week!

One of the questions we get most often: "Am I fit enough?"
Most people are, with the right preparation.

Our tours are designed to build throughout the week. You won't be thrown in the deep end on day one. By the time you're tackling the Pinnacles (600m elevation, if you're up for it), you've already got several days of walking in your legs.

Check out our blog for articles to help you with preparation.

We're always happy to help answer questions about particular tours too.

We've been bringing walkers to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari for years, and it never stops being one of the most remarkable places we visit.

3,000 kiwi, tuatara back on the mainland, 47km of pest-proof fence built by a community that simply refused to give up on their maunga. Here's why it sits at the heart of the conservation tours we run.

We have been bringing our walkers to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari for years now, and every single visitor comments on how special the pristine environment is there. About  twenty minutes in,

Before you pack your boots, you might wonder, who exactly is going to be leading you on your walking and tasting experience?

Our guides aren't hired hands. They're people who grew up locally, who know these tracks well, and who genuinely love sharing what they know.

This off-season, we're pulling back the curtain a little. Over the coming weeks, we'll be introducing the people behind your Nature & Nosh experience - the guides, the chefs, the makers.

Stay tuned.

How hard are our walks? Honestly, the answer is different for everyone, and that's exactly why preparation is key.

Difficulty isn't just about distance. It's a recipe: distance plus elevation plus track surface plus weather, and then your personal fitness, footwear, and how well you've fuelled up beforehand.

You don't need to be an experienced hiker to join us. Good boots, plenty of water, and decent preparation beforehand will make all the difference.

We've broken it all down here:

HUGE news...

Our 2026 / 2027 dates are now LIVE and bookable!

A few words from our past walkers:

"If you love hiking, food, and want to see the beauty of New Zealand, I would highly recommend Nature and Nosh Tours"

"The walks were amazing (including places that are not available to the public), and a good variety of easy to challenging), accommodation (a variety of places) was amazing, and the food was unbelievably good: far better than even world class restaurants. Cannot recommend this more."

"Each accommodation was special, with stunning views, private gardens, and even the occasional hot tub. Every meal was a delightful discovery of local textures and flavours, beautifully prepared and presented, a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Nature & Nosh, a small company with a big heart"

Will you be walking with us next season?

We love stopping in to taste the world’s best gin at 🍸 Always great taking our hiking guests for a treat after a walk and hearing from master distiller Paul 🏅These guys have won so many awards they’ve had to use ceiling space!

We also love that they are 1% for the planet! 1% of their sales are donated to local conservation groups 🌿❤️

We can get behind that cause, and certainly get behind the gin!
