Discover the historic Church of the Good Shepherd - a beloved icon perched on the shores of Lake Tekapo in New Zealand’s South Island. With sweeping views of the turquoise lake and Southern Alps, it’s one of the most photographed spots in the Canterbury region - and it’s easy to see why!
Built in 1935 from local stone, the church was designed to blend seamlessly into its majestic surroundings and reflect the quiet strength and simplicity of early settlers in the Mackenzie Country. Just nearby, you’ll also find the bronze sheepdog statue – honouring the working dogs that helped shape this region.
