On Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting Norwegian Spirit while she was in Auckland picking up her next intake of passengers to sail around New Zealand on a 12-Night cruise to Sydney.
She completed a multi-million dollar refurbishment in 2020 to update the entire ship with new spaces and a facelift in line with Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) iconic scandi-inspired décor and is the only Adult-Centric ship in their fleet making it the perfect small-ship choice with a maximum of 1900 guests and ideal for new-to-cruise passengers.
NCL is perfect for any type of traveller whether you’re a relaxation seeker, foodie lover or an entertainer extraordinaire – this is an ideal cruise for you. And while there are no dedicated kids areas onboard this ship, you might still spot a few little ones running around enjoying their Multi-gen holiday.

Atmosphere onboard with NCL is not your traditional cruise, with freestyle dining options, you’re not stuck into a timetable and casual wear on board means you can leave your suits and gowns at home as there are no formal nights!
You’ll find most of their itineraries arrive early and depart later in the evening, sometimes overnight, so you get to make the most of your time onshore and in port. It’s recommend to pre-book your shore excursions before embarkation and through the cruise-line so you’re the first off, and they’ll wait until you’re back before sailing away.
