🏡 A little TLC for the Havelock North isite!

The Havelock North isite Information Centre is closed until Monday 14 September while some essential maintenance is completed on its little home in the heart of the village.

When the doors reopen, it’ll be back to being a one-stop shop for all things Hastings, Havelock North and Hawke’s Bay. 🙌

Need ideas for a weekend adventure? Want to book a show, sort some travel, plan an itinerary or pick up a local gift? The friendly isite team can help with all that — plus plenty more local tips, maps, brochures and inspiration.

Opening hours have also been updated for both centres:

📍 Hastings isite
Monday–Friday: 9.30am–4.30pm
Saturday: 10am–2pm
Sunday: Closed

📍 Havelock North isite
Monday–Saturday: 10am–2pm
Sunday: Closed

While Havelock North is closed, the Hastings isite remains open and ready to help!

🎩 Hats off to some of Hastings’ finest eateries.

The Cuisine Magazine Good Food Guide 2026 has been released, recognising outstanding dining experiences from across Aotearoa — and Hastings is looking pretty tasty.

A huge congratulations to our local hatted restaurants:

🎩 Black Barn Bistro – 1 Hat
🎩 Cellar 495 – 1 Hat
🎩 Restaurant Ari – 1 Hat
🎩🎩🎩 Craggy Range Restaurant – 3 Hats

What great recognition for the people putting Hastings on the plate — and another good excuse to book a table locally. 👏🍽️

Congratulations to all the teams involved!

🎩 The inaugural Great Blossom Hat Competition is your chance to get creative for this year’s Hastings Blossom Festival. 🌸

Flowers, ribbons, recycled treasures, something completely unexpected – anything goes, as long as your creation captures the spirit of spring and this year’s parade theme, Great Things Grow Here.

A special shout-out to the Creative Craft group at EIT Hastings Learning Centre, who meet each week and have already created some of these absolute gems! 🌸👏

Leading New Zealand designer Annah Stretton is among our three judges, and there is $2,000 worth of prizes up for grabs from our amazing prize sponsors.

Entries close Wednesday 9 September, with the catwalk, judging and prizegiving all happening at Hastings Blossom Festival on Saturday 19 September.

No experience needed – just a bit of imagination.
