Just getting some updated info from the UK High Commission about NZ passport holders who also have an expired UK passport / UK citizenship.

From 25 Feb 2026, if you’re in this situation you’ll need to either renew your UK passport or apply for a Certificate of Entitlement. The information below is taken directly from the UK High Commission.

Up until now, NZ passport holders with UK citizenship could apply for the UK ETA without any issues, but it looks like the entry requirements are changing.

If this applies to you, it’s worth getting onto it early if travelling in 2026 to the UK

From the 8th Jan 2025, there are new entry Requirments to enter the UK if you are not on UK Passport. They have introduced a ETA, and if not completed before you board the plane you will be denied boarding.
