The Mudhouse is a traditional style of housing Sri Lanka. Kuma showed me around d the property- you won't find many man made products here. They have re-forested the area- they started with 2 acres and now have 50. His dedication and energy is amazing.

From the depths of the ocean to the heart of the African plains, you have given a voice to the wild places and the creatures that call them home. You have inspired so many to look closer, care deeper, and fight harder for this planet we share. You are one of the reasons we do what we do.

As 2025 comes to a close we can reflect on an incredible year with some of our favourite moments. Thank you to all our wonderful guests- this has been our busiest year since we began in 2004. Borneo and Bhutan were our new destinations this year. We also had guests throughout the African continent and amazing itineraries in India. Janie joined our small team- and has hit the ground running with an educational trip to Zambia. Linda spent time in Borneo, India, Zambia & Botswana and caught up on industry updates at Experience Africa in London. It's been a huge year and 2026 is already looking busier! Thank you to everyone who has travelled with us, those you have journeys planned and those who recommend us to their family and friends. We are so fortunate to have a strong Getaway family. We love turning your dreams into a reality. So here's to you and we wish everyone health, happiness and magic adventures in 2026. 🥂💕🌍 📸mostly our own but some have been shared by guests & colleagues. 🫶
