The Wilding family have just been on safari in Botswana and they had a wonderful time. Collectively we had been planning this for the past 9 months and it is always exciting to see it all come together and to get such wonderful feedback. They had some tough critics with them- their kids! Aged between 10-15 and they all absolutely loved it.
Here are a few of their favourite images.
Thanks for choosing to design your family safari.

This ANZAC weekend, take a moment to watch PANGOLIN: Kulu’s Journey—a moving and incredibly stunning new documentary following the rescue, rehab and wild release of one of the world’s most endangered mammals.

You’ll fall in love with the gentle, secretive pangolin—just as we have and see how a team of dedicated and passionate people are doing all they can to save these guys from the illegal wildlife trade.

The pangolin is the most trafficked mammal on Earth. Yet few people know their story—until now.

This was November 2023 in Chobe National Park. The drought was bad again that year and the annual rains hadn't arrived and intended us being another very dry year. But this year the rains have been phenomenal and Botswana is lush and green and the wildlife is less stressed. A great year to be heading away in safari.

We floated down the river and our guide Andeas showed us signs of orangutan's that were a day old. His words were hardly out when we heard a rustle in the thick palms and then an orangutan arm s**t up grabbing a grind! We spent the next 2 hours with this incredible creature- a 19-20 yr old male. He was so relaxed and very hungry, he showed us his immense strength as he pulled roots out and chewed on them. What an absolute privelege to see him in the wild and so close. 🦧🙏

Our Story

Getaway Solutions specialises in designing holidays, family safaris and expeditions in places we know and love, places that excite and places that change lives.

A Getaway safari is built on trust, on respect, and in many cases, long term friendships. Our relationships with our ground operators are both long lived and based on a mutual admiration for each other’s expertise. Everyone we work with shares the same vision as we do - visiting incredible destinations but holding conservation and preservation in high regard.

Our clients are largely either repeat business or personal referrals. ‘We are all one big family journeying in the name of Africa’s great wildernesses with a desire to see, smell and hear the beating heart of a wild continent.
