This is me after I tried to check into the flight to Vietnam only to find my passport was 7 days out of the 6 month required period. Passport expiring 22/2/27 and we were flying 29/8/26 for 3 weeks there. Still I guess the fact they did not let us on meant we are in the right place for our trip home.If we had gone we would not have got back in here and Tony’s is a week later than mine. So effectively the whole booking got cancelled as a no show, no refund about $1500 worth airfares, 2 nights accommodation paid for in Vietnam ( lucky not for the whole time)and all his after we had just paid to get an urgent visa on one day turn around off a rip off company (they did get visa through in time)for $500 when it should have been $50 each. So really can’t help thinking we weren’t meant to go to Nam. And all of that stress before we got back from the airport and spent 3 hours renewing our passports on an urgent option so we can hopefully get home on 24th -28th September. Once you apply the old one is no more so 🤞 fingers crossed they arrive quickly. On checking out if there was any refund (no there’s not) and not covered if you don’t check in for any reason on your insurance, today we found we had no seats allocated for return to Melbourne so had to pay another $500 Aussie to be sure. Never had to do this before usually if you do not choose seat airline does it for you but not scoot. so after two hours on the phone I think we are sorted for that trip and have decided to sit tight at Dave’s until the passports arrive. We might go somewhere else in Thailand for a week after that but Da Nang might have to be a next year trip. It is the first real problems we have had and thank god for good friends. Poor Dave thought he was going to have some peace and quiet.
