Council has received a number of questions from the community following the recent changes to Council's kerbside rubbish and recycling service.

To help provide clear, consistent information, Council has created a dedicated FAQs page covering the questions we're being asked most frequently.

Council will continue to update the page as new questions arise to ensure the information remains current and helpful.

From 1 July 2026, Council has a new kerbside rubbish and recycling contractor, Evolve Ventures Limited. The changes are part of improving how rubbish and recycling is collected, sorted and recycled across the district.

Ōtorohanga District Council’s Annual Resident Survey is now open.

This is an opportunity for residents to share their views on Council services, communication, parks and reserves, kerbside rubbish and recycling, and how Council is working with the community.

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and helps Council understand what is working well and where improvements can be made.
