When your daily baleage is late but finally arrives… Emily is our gal who hardly leaves a walk so fair to say I was in hysterics with her antics today 💃 I can see where Lottie gets her party moves from now… 💅🏼

Our sweet girl Betty has been having a 2 week stay in Christchurch after Glenn Beeman (Mountainview Equine) found a mass on her third eyelid during her routine dental/health check. He referred us to Canterbury Equine where Dr Shelly Hann performed surgery on Betty to remove the mass. That mass got sent away to the labs and unfortunately came back as cancer with suspicious pre cancer cells in the margins still so Shelly did another surgery to remove the rest of the third eyelid. The margins came back clear after this!! 🥳 We can't thank Canterbury Equine Clinic enough for their wonderful care whenever we've had our big fluffy children up there (frequent flyers it would appear). It's such a relief not having to worry about your horse while they are in hospital. We're not sure what the future holds just yet, possibly chemo but hopefully not.
These beautiful pink horses unfortunately are a prone to these sorts of issues.

We’ve been a bit quiet on here after a very busy few months ! Alas - the show must go on (literally)! Susanna was the president of the 2026 Mackenzie Highland A&P Show where the Clydesdales made her very proud. We even brought her to tears when we stood by her in the grand parade! 6 Clydesdales came out to party in the drizzle, 3 of ours and 3 others who travelled to support Susie.

Our big boy Basil (4yrs old) brought home the champion male & supreme champion Clydesdale ribbons while his mother Betty and paddock mate Billy stood proudly beside him holding his hand when he needed support. At 18hh he looks like a big adult so sometimes people forget he’s still a toddler. We are incredibly proud of him.

One thing about the Clydesdale community is that we are like a family, we all support and lift each other up. I couldn’t have got our 3 horses into the show ring on my own. Maryanne, Jaime, Rod, Anneke - thank you all so much for helping me plait the horses up, loving them like your own and always being there when needed. Thank you to the stewards and judges who give up their time to support the show(s), if we don’t keep supporting the shows we will lose them!

Our horses know their jobs when we go out to shows and it’s not to bring home ribbons… but to educate the public about the breed and provide an opportunity for everyone to get close to a big gentle giant.

Mum was having some difficulties watering the trees today. Lottie has worked out hoses are fun now… 💦 this went on for about 10 minutes

Thought I was going to have Lottie stumped with a scary tarpaulin but she just said “hold my beer, I’ve got this” 🍺 she also had to taste test the rock 🤦🏼‍♀️
